Occurring in dry woods, humid floodplains, and gorges. On bark of trees and on rock.
Distinguishing Features
When wet, the widely spreading, squarrose leaf lobes and relative robust size of the plants are distinctive. When dry the leaf lobes are strongly deflexed and nearly curl under the stem. Perianths in this dioicous species are born on short lateral branches.
